Title:
FREQUENCY CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5956872
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a frequency converter by controlling the pulse width of the output side AC of an inverter inversely proportional to the DC peak value of the input side of the inverter, thereby omitting a smoothing circuit to a rectifier. CONSTITUTION:An AC power source 6 is inputted to and rectified by a rectifier 1, supplied to an inverter 3, and converted to the AC output 10 of a rectangular pulse of voltage shape by the control of a switching element 3a. At this time a set signal 14 from a speed setter 4 and ripple signals 12, 13 of DC outputted from the rectifier 1 are inputted and added by a controller 5, thereby controlling switching element 3a. Accordingly, the pulse width of the AC output 10 is controlled inversely proportional to the DC peak value with ripples of the DC output, thereby obtaining the AC output equivalent to that converted to AC by the inverter 3 from the DC sufficiently smoothed through a smoothing circuit.
