PURPOSE: To realize the frequency divider circuit having a wide operating range with respect to frequency and input level in the frequency divider circuit frequency-dividing a pulse with a desired frequency division ratio.
CONSTITUTION: The frequency divider circuit is provided with a pulse shaping section 3 shaping a width of a pulse inputted to a pulse frequency divider section 5, an output pulse from the pulse shaping section 3 is detected by a duty ratio detection section 7 and its output is negatively fed back to the pulse shaping section 3 as pulse shaping information. Thus, the frequency divider circuit having a wide band operating range is realized with simple circuit configuration. Furthermore, since a DC offset is given to the frequency divider circuit, a wide operating range is obtained with respect to an input level.
