Abstract:
To reduce power consumption in a frequency synthesizer capable of selecting and setting the output band of a VCO.
By having the frequency synthesizer provided with a frequency conversion circuit 110, having a mixer 111 and a divider 112 connected in parallel with each other, the highest operation frequency of a phase comparator 102 in the selection of the frequency band of the VCO 101 is lowered, and the power consumption is reduced by using the divider 112 in selection of the frequency band of the VCO 101. In addition, it is not necessary to lower the loop gain in transmission by using the mixer 111 at transmission.
