Title:
FREQUENCY SYNTHESIZER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61261926
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make a noise of a frequency synthesizer low by executing a frequency conversion by a signal generating a high frequency by applying an output of the first voltage control oscillator to a step recovery diode.

CONSTITUTION: A reference signal of a voltage control oscillator VCO 14 is stabilized by the first phase synchronizing loop which is formed by a reference quartz oscillator 10, a 1/N2 frequency divider 11, a phase comparator 12, an amplifier 15, a loop filter 16, and a 1/N1 frequency divider 13. An output of the VCO 14 is applied to a step recovery diode 34 through amplifiers 29, 30 and a coupler 31. In the diode 34, a higher harmonics is generated, and applied to a sampling phase detecting circuit 35. On the other hand, an output of a VCO 38 is applied directly to this circuit 35, and a phase comparing signal of both of them is applied to the VCO 38 again through a loop filter 39, and stabilized. This output is amplified by an amplifier 42, and applied to a mixer 41. To this mixer 41, an output of a VCO 24, which is stabilized by the other second PLL is multiplied by a multiplexer 27, and amplified and applied. In this way, a desired signal can be obtained.
