To provide a fresh water generator utilizing a thermoelectric conversion element such as a Peltier element and capable of increasing condensation area of steam per unit area of the device and increasing quantity of generated fresh water.
This fresh water generator is constituted in such a way that this generator has a first cylindrical fin block 10 provided with a cooling fin in its inside, a second cylindrical fin block 12 provided with a heat radiating fin in its inside, and the thermoelectric conversion element 28 arranged between the first fin block and the second fin block, a side face of the second fin block opposes to a side face of the first fin block to form a fresh water generating unit, the fresh water generating units are piled up at a plurality of steps, a flow passage for cooling air is formed in the direction for piling them up by the cooling fins of each fresh water generating unit, and an air flow passage for radiating heat is formed in the direction for piling up the units by the heat radiating fins of each fresh water generating unit.
