Title:
FRICTION BONDING METHOD OF ENGINE VALVE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3671114
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the swaging thickness of a bonding part, resulting in prevention of occurrence of punching failure or shaft displacement by stopping rotation of one shaft, and pressing and displacing the first shaft member and/or the second shaft member composed of metal materials with the same hardness at a given volume for obtaining the gross contribution volume, before pressing and displacing the first shaft member and/or the second shaft member at a given volume for obtaining the gross contribution volume.
SOLUTION: A bar-like element 5 is rotated to a given high speed rotational area by driving a drive motor 26, and a slide table 20 is moved forwards, so that the shaft part 4 end face and the bar-like element 5 end face are brought into contact. The slide table 20 is forwarded by an infinitesimal distance, and the shaft part 4 end face is pressed via the bar-like element 5 end face to obtain a minute initial contribution volume. The second large pressure is supplied to a cylinder 30, and the bar-like element 5 end face, and the shaft part 4 end face are pressed by the second pressure to obtain the gross contribution volume, and the drive motor 26 is stopped by the control of a controller before reaching the gross contribution volume. During deceleration and stopping, the end face is melted by few millimeters by the rotation inertia of the bar-like element 5, so as to obtain the gross contribution volume.
