A friction charge apparatus is equipped with a belt conveyor 13 having a plurality of projections 12 provided on the surface thereof and receiving ground waste refuse 1 to be sorted on its upstream side and five rotary drums 16 supported centering around a horizontal axis in a freely rotatable manner by a holder in opposed relation to the upper surface of the belt conveyor 13 and having a plurality of the fins 15 of which the leading ends reach the vicinity of the upper surface of the belt conveyor 13 provided to the outer periphery thereof and recessed parts 20 are provided to the holder 14 along the outer peripheries of the rotary fins 15 of the respective drums 16 and the surface of the belt conveyor 14, the fins 15 of the rotary drums 16 and the surfaces of the recessed parts 20 of the holder 14 are formed of a resin. By this constitution, charge quantity necessary for sorting ground waste refuse 1 to be sorted composed of plastic can be applied within a short time.
