PURPOSE: To provide an easily and inexpensively manufacturable damper assembly.
CONSTITUTION: A damper assembly 32 for a friction clutch 30 has a spring pack 42 housed in a spring cage 38. The spring pack elastically connects a pressure plate 34 and an output hub 24. The pressure plate has a friction surface. The output hub 24 is connected to an output shaft 28 of a torque converter 10. A projecting part 52 is formed in the spring cage 38, the pressure plate and the output hub being members of a damper to impart friction hysteresis to these relatively rotating damper members. The normal force for imparting the friction hysteresis is brought about by a washer spring 44 positioned by a projecting part 48 formed in one of members of the damper. Angular displacement allowed by a spring of the damper is restricted by a window 58 formed in one of members of the damper and a tab 60 formed in the other member of the damper.
