Abstract:

To provide a liquid friction control composition with enhanced retentivity containing an antioxidant.

The friction control composition comprises (a) about 40 wt.% to about 95 wt.% of water, (b) about 0.5 wt.% to about 50 wt.% of a rheological agent, (c) about 0.5 wt.% to about 2 wt.% of an antioxidant, (d) about 0.5 wt.% to about 40 wt.% of a retentivity agent, (e) about 0 wt.% to about 40 wt.% of a lubricant, and (f) about 0 wt.% to about 25 wt.% of a friction modifier. Wherein, if the lubricant is at about 0 wt.%, then the composition contains at least about 0.5 wt.% of the friction modifier, and wherein if the friction modifier is at about 0 wt.%, then the composition contains at least about 1 wt.% of the lubricant.
