Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent more than necessary lubrication from being carried out by changing lubrication of an outer peripheral side friction engagement device according to an engagement condition of an inner peripheral side friction engagement device.

CONSTITUTION: In an automatic transmission where plural number of friction engagement devices are arranged in the radial direction, the outer peripheral side friction engagement devices are lubricated regardless of engagement/ disengagement of the inner peripheral side friction engagement devices, and when more than necessary lubricating oil is supplied, dragging torque is generated by its lubricating oil, so that transmission loss is made. Therefore, in a clutch drum of an inner peripheral side clutch, the third through hole 43 and the seventh through hole 47 are arranged in the shaft directional same position as an outer peripheral side clutch and in a dislocated position. A piston member 28 engages/disengages an inner peripheral side second clutch 27. The piston member 28 has the second through hole 42 which can coincide with the seventh through hole 47 in the case when the second clutch 27 is engaged therewith and can also coincide with the third through hole 43 in the case when the second clutch 27 is disengaged therefrom.
