Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction engagement device which has a first piston and a second piston, and is compact in an axial direction.SOLUTION: A hydraulic servo 3 of a multi-plate clutch 1 has a first piston 21 capable of pressing a friction portion 4, and a second piston 31 capable of pressing the first piston 21 toward the friction portion 4. An outer peripheral portion of a cylinder member 11 with which the second piston 31 is fitted, becomes an extending portion 15 extending in an axial direction. The extending portion 15 slidably supports the second piston 31 on an inner peripheral side, and slidably supports the first piston 21 on an outer peripheral side. Therefore, the first piston 21 and the second piston 31 are disposed so as to be superimposed in the axial direction, thereby compactly configuring the hydraulic servo 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
