Abstract:
PURPOSE:To secure such a continuously variable transmission that is possible to execute automatic pressure regulation in use of centrifugal force and compact in size by having an input side rotor and a driving disc engaged with each other by a cam body which interlocks these elements. CONSTITUTION:Rotational input ranging from an input shaft 2 to a rotor 3 is transmitted to an output cylinder shaft 19 by means of frictional interlocking between a driving rotary disc 11 and an input side rotor 13 and that between a driving disc 15 and an output side turning wheel body 17. And, with rocking operation of a shifter 20, this turning wheel body 17 is slidingly operated in a radial direction of the driving disc 15, a contact spot is carried, and selected to a forward-backward transmission state as making an output revolving speed vary into being stepless. Here centrifugal force in a cam body 22 increases in proportion as a revolving speed of the input rotor 13 goes up, and with each form of bottom surfaces 23a and 24a, the cam body 22 moves to the outer circumferential side of the driving disc 15, heightening the pressing force. Thus, automatic pressure regulation in use of centrifugal force is made attainable, whereby transmission is performable without entailing any engine stop, and compactification is well promoted.
