PURPOSE: To reduce damage for a disk rotor, which is an opponent material, by containing specific % calcium sulfate by volume in a total composite, in the case of a friction material of disk brake pad and brake lining or the like for an automobile or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A fine powder of calcium sulfate is contained 5W15% by volume in a friction material composite consisting of fiber material of steel or the like, phenol resin of cashew denaturation, rubber denaturation, alkyl denaturation, etc., lubricant of graphite, molybdenum disulfate, etc. further an organic friction adjusting agent, barium sulfate and metal dust or the like added as necessary. And baking the composite after thermal pressure molding, a semimetallic disk brake pad or the like is obtained. Thus improving an attacking quality to a disk rotor serving as the opponent material, the composite reduces damage for the disk rotor while enables the generation of noise and judder to be decreased as small as possible.
