Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction material composition which has excellent abrasion resistance at high temperatures and produces less noise when not containing copper having a high environmental burden or even when containing 0.5 mass% or less of copper: and to provide a friction material and a friction member.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a friction material composition that comprises a binding agent, an organic filling material, an inorganic filling material, and a fiber substrate, the friction material composition either not comprising therein copper as an element or comprising 0.5 mass% or less of copper. The friction material component further comprises: potassium titanate having a plurality of convex shapes; and triiron tetraoxide having an average particle diameter of 0.1-1.0 μm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
