Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction material containing no copper high in environmental load, or having the content of copper of 0.5 mass% or less and less in rust fastening power and rust peeling.SOLUTION: There is provided a friction material containing a binder, an organic filler, an inorganic filler and a fiber substrate, containing no copper as an element in the friction material or having content of the copper of 0.5 mass% or less, containing fibrillated aramid fiber as the fiber substrate, having porosity measured by an oil impregnation method of 15% or less and having no scorch treatment conducted.SELECTED DRAWING: None
