Abstract:
To obtain a friction material good in moldability and further good in abrasion and crack resistances.
This friction material is produced by thermoforming a composition comprising a nonasbestos-based fibrous substrate, a friction modifier and a phenol resin powder having at least either one of the following physical properties as a binder: (a) 1-15 μm particle diameter and (b) 40-100 mm flow distance.
