Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction material capable of securing requirements of abrasion resistance and rust resistant fixing property, in the friction material made by forming a friction material composition of NAO material which does not contain copper component.SOLUTION: A friction material composition which includes: 9.0 to 12.0 wt.% of binder; 2.0 to 8.0 wt.% of organic fiber; 0.5 to 7.0 wt.% of metal sulfide type lubricant; 2.0 to 6.0 wt.% of carbonaceous lubricant; 8.0 to 35.0 wt.% of titanate; 1.0 to 3.0 wt.% of wollastonite; 11.0 to 27.0 wt.% of particulate inorganic friction modifier having Mohs hardness of 4.5 or more and less than 8.0; 2.0 to 11.0 wt.% of inorganic friction modifier having Mohs hardness less than 4.5; 3.0 to 8.0 wt.% of organic friction modifier; and 2.0 to 6.0 wt.% of pH modifier, and does not contain substance having Mohs hardness of 8.0 or more, metal single body other than copper and alloy other than copper alloy is used.
