Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a friction material improved in frictional performances without detriment to the well-balanced wettability with a binder and without using a large amount of an organic friction modifier.
CONSTITUTION: A friction material mainly consisting of a binder, a fibrous base and a friction modifier, wherein the friction modifier at least partially consists of expanded vermiculite reinforced by impregnation with a latex. This material is improved in frictional performances particularly a friction coefficient at a high temperature and friction resistance.
