Title:
FRICTION MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6362926
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve an abrasion resistance of a friction material, by adding 5W35wt% of kalium titanate fibers of 0.1W3mm of fiber length and 10W60μm of fiber diameter with respect to the entire volume of a friction material for the fiber component.

CONSTITUTION: A friction material contains 5W35wt% of kalium titanate long fibers of 0.1W3mm in length and 10W60μm in diameter. With the component, friction is caused among fibers and a mechanical reinforcing effect is maintained so that an abrasion resistance is improved at a high temperature. Further, since a lot of pores can be defined among the fibers, a fade resistance can be improved. In addition, metal fibers or Aramid fibers may be contained so that they reinforce one another and strength as a material can be improved. Therefore, an abrasion resistance and a fade resistance can be improved and an aggressive property to a mating member can be reduced.
