To lubricate and cool a friction member sufficiently and to reduce drag torque while suppressing a leak flow rate in a lock-up clutch device.
The friction member to be used in the lock-up clutch device includes a plurality of friction parts 51 and a plurality of grooves 52. The friction parts 51 are arranged side by side in the circumferential direction to form an annular friction surface. The grooves 52 are formed between the friction parts 51 so as to penetrate from the inner circumferential side to the outer circumferential side. Each of the grooves 52 has an inner circumferential groove 54 and an outer circumferential groove 55. The inner circumferential groove 54 is composed of a first groove 57 positioned at the inner circumferential side with an opening at the inner circumferential end thereof and a second groove 58 positioned at the outer circumferential side continuous to the first groove 57, and is formed in a V shape that opens in the circumferential direction. The outer circumferential groove 55 is continuous to the outer circumferential end of the second groove 58 of the inner circumferential groove 54, and is extended radially in the outer circumferential direction.
