Title:
FRICTION PAD SUPPORTING APPARATUS OF DISC BRAKE FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS55149433
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the braking torque from loading on the caliper support portion by an arrangement wherein a pair of confronting plane surfaces of the extensions of the stationary supporter are formed in such a manner that a gap therebetween is increased with the increasing distance along the radial direction outwards, and the back plate is placed with its end surfaces in contact with the two surfaces of the extensions. CONSTITUTION:Extensions 17f are provided at a pair of arms 17b of a stationary supporter 17 and a pair of confronting plane surfaces 17g of these extensions 17f are formed in such a manner that a gap therebetween is increased with the increasing distance along the radial directon outwards. A back plate 24a is placed with its end surfaces in contact with two surfaces 17g, 17h of the extensions 17f. By so doing, it becomes possible to avoid such danger that the braking torque acting on an outerside friction pad 24 may be loaded on the support portion of a caliper 19 and sufficiently restrict the movement of the outerside friction pad 24 in both radial and rotational directions of a disc. In addition, the surfaces 17g, 17h of the extensions 17f can be used as control torque transmitting surfaces, it becomes also possible to obtain their area sufficiently.
