Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a joining method enabling friction pressure joining of a thin wall steel pipe for a propeller shaft, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A pressure value P1 applied to a work 7 in a friction process (facial pressure at a joining position (kgf/mm2) shall be P1 ≤(t/D×21.4-0.21)×σy relating to the ratio of the plate thickness to the outside diameter t/D and the yield strength of the steel pipe (σy: kgf/mm2). Thus the friction pressure joining is carried out without an occurrence of abnormal joining.
