To provide an excellent friction reducing agent, and in particular a friction reducing agent exhibiting a remarkable friction reducing effect when a sliding surface is a metal such as an iron base material and a diamond-like carbon film, and to provide a lubricating oil composition formed by compounding the friction reducing agent and exhibiting an excellent friction reducing effect.

The friction reducing agent contains an amino compound represented by general formula (I) (wherein, R₁ represents a ≥20C aliphatic hydrocarbon group, and each of m and n represents an integer of 1-6), and the lubricating oil composition contains the friction reducing agent.
