Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction roller type speed reducer capable of reducing its size and weight while maintaining the mechanical strength of rocking holders, and of preventing a deterioration in the power transmission efficiency by reducing a variation in the support positions of intermediate rollers.SOLUTION: The friction roller type speed reducer includes a plurality of rocking holders 32 supporting intermediate rollers 19, respectively, and a carrier 33 pivotally supporting the rocking holders 32 to rock around rocking shafts 73 parallel to rotation shafts. The carrier 33 has the rocking shafts 73 arranged around a sun roller 15 at its peripheral positions different from the rotation shafts with respect to the peripheral direction in a plane perpendicular to the axial direction of the sun roller 15. The rocking shafts 73 are arranged in an annular space on the further side of the sun roller 15 than a virtual straight line L, when a straight line parallel to a tangential line Lat a contact point Pc1 where each of the intermediate rollers 19 supported by the rocking holders 32 has rolling contact with the sun roller 15 and passing through each of the rotation shafts of the intermediate rollers 19 is defined as the virtual straight line L.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
