Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction roller type speed reducer capable of avoiding the rolling contact faces of rollers from being excessively pushed against each other by an increase in the pressure of lubricating oil with centrifugal force when driven to be rotated in a particularly high speed, without complicating its structure, and of suppressing the occurrence of wear and damage, while maintaining an appropriate traction state all the time to actualize high power transmission efficiency.SOLUTION: A ring roller 17 of a friction roller type speed reducer 100 has a pair of roller elements 31, 33. A loading cam mechanism 23 moves one roller element 33 in the axial direction. Between one roller element 33 and a cam ring 41, hydraulic chamber 47 is formed to be filled with lubricating oil. Axial force is loaded on one roller element 33 by centrifugal hydraulic pressure generated in the hydraulic chamber 47. The cam ring 41 has a through-hole communicating the inside of the hydraulic chamber 47 with the outside. In the through-hole, a valve 39 is provided which is opened only when the hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic chamber exceeds a predetermined pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
