Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a hollow section excellent joining from one side of the surface irrespective of the dimensional precision of the hollow section, etc.
SOLUTION: A butt part between face plates 12b, 22b of sections 10, 20 is subjected to the friction stir joining. Subsequently, a connection material 30 is placed and one edge of the connection material 30 is abutted on the edge part of a face plate 11 of the hollow section 10. In such a state, a butt part between the face plate 11 and the connection material 30 is subjected to the friction stir joining. Also, an overlapped part between the other edge of the connection material 30 and the hollow section 20 is subjected to the friction stir joining. The connection material 30 and a face plate 21 of the hollow section 20 are welded as necessary.
