Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction stir welding device for a vehicle which can easily manufacture a vehicle body in a curved face shape or a structure comprising a part of it by welding a work, and can tilt a rotary tool at the tip (lower end) in the curved direction when the work is curved.
SOLUTION: A bed 10 is constituted by raising a plurality of cut plates 11 which have curved upper end faces 12 at specified pitches, providing recesses 13 in the width direction of the upper end faces 12 at intervals corresponding to a width of the work, and making beams 4 which have long length and flat upper faces orthogonal to the cut plates 11 and fitting them in the each recess 13. Joint heads 7 are tiltably arranged in a horizontal frame part 51 of a portal frame 5 so that directions of joining rotary tools 71 at the tips are directed to the normal of the curved lines of the upper end faces 12 of the cut plates 11.
