To obtain a structure of a friction torque hinge which can effectively lubricant for smoothening frictional torque and efficiently assemble a plate spring.
A spring member 8 is in frictional contact with an outer peripheral surface 21 of a shaft 2. The spring member made of sufficiently elastic material has a profile of a right hexagon. Degree of frictional torque between the outer peripheral surface 21 of the shaft 2 and an inner peripheral part 320 of the spring member 3 is set by adjusting elastic force of arms 311 to 316 across the two adjacent corners selected points of support from the corners 301 to 306, and size of clearances 351 to 356 corresponding to the shapes of the arms. A leg 340 connected to the corner 301 is retained by a housing. Mutual angle between the housing and the shaft 2 is kept and fixed under a specified value of torque or lower. The spring member 3, being symmetrical to the rotary shaft, can effectively hold lubricant and show smooth torque characteristics and excellent assembling operability.
