The V-ribbed belt 1 is composed of an extension part 2 comprising a cover canvas 5, a glued layer 4 comprising core wires 3 of cords embedded in it, and a compression part 6 as an elastic layer on the lower side. The compression part 6 has a plurality of trapezoidal ribs extended in the belt length direction and having a roughly triangular cross section. At least rib side surfaces 9 are composed of rubber composition including short fibers that are not surface-treated. In the surface, holes 8 such as pores due to coming off of the short fibers and/or gaps between the short fibers and rubber exist.
