Abstract:

To provide a friction transmission belt, which is a die molded belt, capable of preventing occurrence of abnormal noise and noise during travel.

In a friction transmission belt 1, a surface of a compressed rubber layer 6 for engagement or contact with a pulley is coated with a skin layer 8 formed of a thermoplastic resin and equipped with at least a film shaped part. The thermoplastic resin may have a melting point or a softening point not higher than a vulcanizing temperature of the compressed rubber layer. The thermoplastic resin may be an olefinic resin, a polyester resin, a polyamide resin, a thermoplastic elastomer or the like. The skin layer may be a molten product of a cloth formed of a thermoplastic resin fiber. The cloth may be a nonwoven fabric. An average thickness of the skin layer may be 0.05-0.3 mm. The skin layer may have film form. The friction transmission belt may be molded with a die without performing polishing, and for example, may be a friction transmission V-belt or a friction transmission V-ribbed belt.
