The frictional electrification apparatus has a storage hopper for storing chips, an electrification apparatus body 13 for frictionally electrifying the chips, and a chip conveying body which connects the body 13 with the hopper and conveys the chips in the hopper to the body 13. The body 13 has a container 20 for retaining the chips, agitation shafts 21 installed rotatably in the container 20, agitation screws 22 which are fixed to the respective agitation shafts 21 and agitate the chips, a motor 34 for rotation for rotating the agitation shafts 21, and a motor 32 for revolution for revolving all the agitation shafts 21.
