To suppress the generation of tapping noises in a frictional resistance generating mechanism having small rotating-direction gaps for absorbing slight torsional vibration.
The frictional resistance generating mechanism 7 is arranged between two relatively rotatable members of a rotating mechanism for generating frictional resistance to damp the torsional vibration when two members have relative rotation with the torsional vibration. It comprises a first frictional resistance generation part 88, a second frictional resistance generation part 89, a first rotating-direction engagement part 81, and a second rotating-direction engagement part 82. The second frictional resistance generation part 89 generates frictional resistance greater than the first frictional resistance generation part 88. The first rotating-direction engagement part 81 has rotating-direction gaps 46, 47 for preventing the operation of both the first frictional resistance generation part 88 and the second frictional resistance generation part 89. The second rotating-direction engagement part 82 has rotating-direction gaps 85, 86 for preventing the operation of only the second frictional resistance generation part 89 on both sides in a torsion angle range of the rotating-direction gaps 46, 47.
