Abstract:
PURPOSE: To uniformize the length of a fringed selvedge and improve the quality of woven fabric in a shuttleless loom having a cutter placed outside the fringed selvedge of woven fabric of the side to receive a weft and a trimmed selvedge positioned outside the cutter.
CONSTITUTION: A stopper 20 provided with a front-open checking part at a position corresponding to the weaving front line is placed between a cutter 5 and a trimmed selvedge. Accordingly, even if a weft Y is slantly pulled with the retreating trimmed selvedge, the slant motion is inhibited by the engagement with the checking part of the stopper 20 located at a position corresponding to the weaving front line of the woven fabric. As a result, the variations of the number of wefts Y in the cutting range of the cutter 5 and the length of the weft from an end of the woven fabric become negligible throughout the picks.
