To provide in the lower portion of a bumper a forwardly projecting member having a tip extended in the cross direction of the vehicle, so that the projecting member receives load exerted from a front direction, to cause the projecting member to move upwards in response to load exerted in an upward direction from below, so that in the event of collision between the vehicle and a pedestrian the projecting member forces upward the pedestrian's feet below his or her knees to surely bring the pedestrian onto the bonnet thus preventing secondary troubles; to prevent damage to the projecting member by moving the projecting member upward when the projecting member interferes with a member on a road face; and to provide a front body structure of a vehicle being structurally simple and free from malfunctioning.

This front body structure of a vehicle has a bumper 9 below the front of a bonnet 1 which extends forwards, and a projecting member 12 which projects forwards with its tip extending in the cross direction of the vehicle is provided in the lower part of the bumper 9. The projecting member 12 receives load imposed thereon from a front direction and can be moved upwards in response to load exerted upward from below.
