Title:
FRONT BODY STRUCTURE FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3743851
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the degree of freedom of the tuning of the collision performance as the frame unit by reducing the influence which the sub-frame installed on the front frame receives against the initial buckling deformation of the vehicle when the front of the vehicle is collided.
SOLUTION: A sub-frame 3 consists of a front edge portion 4, a side edge portion 5 and an engine cross member 6. The forward portion of the sub-frame 3 and left and right front frames 1 are axially attached so that they can rotatively move via tie down hook members 7. When the front frames 1 start buckling deformation at front collision, the tie down hook members 7 are rotatively moved centered on the axially attached portion with a bolt 8a to the front of the vehicle relative to the front frames 1, which makes it difficult for the influence of the buckling deformation to be transmitted to the sub-frame 3. As a result, degree of freedom is increased in staggering the timing of starting the buckling deformation of the front frames 1 and the sub-frame 3.
