Title:
FRONT END CAP HOLE BRAZING AND OXIDATION RESISTANT ALLOY FOR THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001179432
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a brazing method for closing the moving blade front end cap holes of a high-pressure turbine which maximizes the packing degree of the holes, minimizes the porosity and improves oxidation resistance and relativity and an alloy for the same.

A first composition consisting of particles of the first alloy having a solidus temperature higher than a brazing temperature is packed into the front end cap hole. The first composition is coated with a second composition consisting of particles of the second alloy having a solids temperature lower than the brazing temperature. The particles of the second alloy are melted by heating the second composition to the brazing temperature and the liquid of the second alloy transferred into the gaps among the particles of the first alloy is formed by capillarity. The liquid of the second alloy is cooled to form the solid for securely bonding the particles of the first alloy. The second alloy contains ≤1 wt.% B and 3 to 11 wt.% Si. The first alloy contains Cr, at least about 5 wt.% al, At least about 0.5 wt.% Hf and ≤0.5 wt.% Ti.
