Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable the exact adjustment of front end resist timing even with paper of an arbitrary length.
CONSTITUTION: The time for the paper P past a resist sensor to arrive at the transfer position to a photosensitive drum increases with the increase in the length of the cut paper P. The front end resist timing at two points [paper length points (P) 0, 1] of the paper length is theoretically or empirically set for each of three pieces of rolled paper and between these two points is linearly approximated. The front end resist timing at the arbitrary paper length is determined by the straight line.
