Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a water jet propulsion unit in which the length of a conduit pipe is reduced to decrease the loss of water delivered.
CONSTITUTION: In a water jet propulsion unit for jetting water sucked through a conduit pipe 2 from a water intake 1 provided in the bottom part of a hull H from a jet nozzle 5 backward by means of an impeller 3 provided on the downstream side of the conduit pipe 2, an enlarged diameter part 11, the bore diameter of which is abruptly enlarged from the upstream toward the downstream, is formed on the upstream side of the impeller 3 in the conduit pipe 2, and front guide vanes 4 for turning the water flow in the conduit pipe 2 in the direction opposite to the rotating direction of the impeller 3 is provided in the enlarged diameter part 11.
