Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front light and reflecting type liquid crystal display device and a personal digital assistant which are lightweight and small-sized in which a screen display of a uniform brightness and with good high efficiency is obtained.
SOLUTION: This front light is equipped with a main light guide plate 1, the second light guide plate 2 arranged along a widthwise direction at an end of the main light guide plate wherein prism-shaped grooves 12 which extend in the thickness direction have been plurally installed along a longitudinal direction at an end face of opposite side against the end face opposing to the main light guide plate, a point-shaped light source 3 arranged at the end of the longitudinal end of the second light guide plate, and a reflecting film 11 coated on a surface of the prism-shaped grooves.
