Title:
FRONT PART BODY STRUCTURE OF AUTOMOBILE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3140506
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To increase the crash stroke in a rear region without increasing the longitudinal length of a car body in the rear region in comparison with the front edge part, as for the front part body structure of an automobile.
CONSTITUTION: A front wheel turning means which laterally turns front wheels 10 through the crush deformation of a front body 26 in the collision applied from the front surface is installed on the front body 26 in front of a cabin. The front wheel turning means is constituted of a tie-rod bending member 30 which turns the front wheels 10 by bending a tie-rod 20 through the retreat due to the collapse of the front body 26. When the front wheel 10 is retreated by the turn of the front wheel 10, the contact with a side sill 22 is prevented, or the distance up to the contact increases, and the crash stroke increases.
