To provide a front part vehicle body structure of an automobile capable of effectively preventing the entry of water in an outside air intake hole formed in a dash panel while maintaining the absorbing function of the collision energy by a cowl panel.
The front part vehicle body structure of the automobile has a dashpanel 3 which demarcates an engine room 1 from a cabin 2 and has an outside air inlet 16 for introducing outside air into an air-conditioner, and a cowl panel 5 for supporting a lower end portion of a windshield 4. An upper wall part 25 with its rear end being joined with an upper end of the dash panel 3 and a front wall part 34 which is installed in a downwardly extending manner from the upper wall part 25 with its lower end being joined with the dash panel 3, and a plurality of opening parts being formed therein are provided on the cowl panel 5. The opening part 38 located forward of the outside air inlet 16 of the dash panel 3 out of the plurality of opening parts formed in the front wall part 34 of the cowl panel 5 is located above the others.
