Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a front pillar lower, which is free from form collapsing, in which a door hinge is molded consolidatedly, and which ensures an enhanced accuracy for door installation.
CONSTITUTION: The folded part 14 of a front pillar lower 11 constituting a closed section is formed with a large thickness, and a flange 12 and hinge 22 are molded through extrusion in a single piece. After extrusion process, the hinge is cut while the part bearing the front door is left. This ensures that no form collapsing is made because of the large thickness of the folded part 14. Because of single piece construction of the flange 12 and hinge 22, there is no need to fix by welding etc., and the strength of the mounting part is free from dropping.
