Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a front and rear wheel steering angles control capable of easily calculating a target turning central position and limiting the protruding quantity to the rear end outside of a vehicle while realizing a prescribed turning radius during the turning of the vehicle.
SOLUTION: The target turning radius based on the steering manipulated variable of a driver is calculated, and the target turning central position is set on the extension line of the rear end of the vehicle in the initial stage of the turning of the vehicle so as to limit the protruding quantity to the vehicle rear end outside during the turning of the vehicle. Thereafter, the target turning central position is gradually moved in the vehicle forward direction according to the progress of turning, and the command values of front and rear wheel steering angles are calculated on the basis of them. Accordingly, the protruding quantity to the vehicle rear end outside in the initial stage of turning is limited, and the slip angle and inner wheel difference of the vehicle during turning can be minimized without giving an incompatible feeling to the driver.
