Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve driving stability by providing a fluid viscous coupling interposing in a transmitting system between a steering handle and a rear wheel so as to enable its steering characteristic to be given the characteristic in accordance with a steering speed and road surface friction or the like. CONSTITUTION:By controlling a steering handle 11, a rack 14 performs a motion in the axial direction through a steering shaft 12 and a steering mechanism housed in a gear box 13, and a front wheel 16 is steered through a linkage. While simultaneously turning a rear wheel output shaft 17 through a worm gear or the like housed in the gear box 13, a turning effect of the shaft 17 is transmitted to a rear wheel steering mechanism 31 through a connecting shaft 19, steering a rear wheel 16'. Here the connecting shaft 19 is constituted providing a viscous coupling (fluid viscous coupling) interposing between front and rear part connecting shafts 19F, 19R. Torque is transmitted by viscous resistance torque generated in accordance with a relative rotary speed difference between the front and rear part connecting shafts 19F, 19R.
