Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front and rear wheels interlocking brake device for a motorcycle to perform optimum brake control by providing both the antiblock function of a front wheel and the interlocking brake function of front and rear wheels.
SOLUTION: A front and rear wheels interlocking brake device for a motorcycle comprises a first brake system 24 to simultaneously operate a front disc brake 12 and a rear drum brake through operation of a left brake lever 22; and a second brake system 26 to operate only the front disc brake 12 through operation of a right brake lever 20. Brake hydraulic control parts 28 and 30 having an antiblock brake function to prevent lock of respective wheels are interposed between the first and second brake systems 24 and 26. The brake hydraulic control parts 28 and 30 has an independent hydraulic circuit consisting of the first and second brake systems 24 and 26 and are provided with hydraulic pump units 32 and 34 to boost respective brake oil pressures.
