Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively relax an impact during head-on collision by a method wherein a rigid member is mounted in such a formet to prevent inhibition of collapse deformation of a front side frame part during head-on collision, in the front structure of an automobile wherein a rigid member is mounted on a front side frame part.
SOLUTION: Two cross members 2 and 3 are mounted on a front side frame 1R, arranged at the front of a car body, with a given distance therebetween in a longitudinal direction. An engine is mounted on a front side frame 1R part between two cross members 2 and 4 through an engine mount bracket 4 serving as a rigidity member. In this case, two bolt holes 4b and 4b formed in the engine bracket 4 are formed in the front edge of the engine mount bracket 4 and the rear edge of a groove 4a extending in the direction of car width. This constitution releases coupling between the engine mount bracket 4 and the front side frame 1R during backward movement of an engine due to a shock.
