In a front structure of a saddle type vehicle that includes: a vehicle body frame 12 in which a steering shaft 25 extends from the front part 13; a fork member 23 in which a front wheel 21 can be rotatably installed to the lower part; a steering member 26 which is coupled to the upper part of the fork member 23, and also rotatably installed to the steering shaft 25, an upper plate member 72 extends from the vehicle body 12 to support the tip of the steering shaft 25 by the upper plate member 72. The deflection rigidity and flexural rigidity of the steering shaft can be raised since the steering shaft is supported at both ends, and small diameter of the steering shaft can be achieved.
