Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front wheel rotation detector capable of eliminating the need of addition of the parts for removing the rotation of front wheels to the outside even if the front wheels are driven wheels by using a simple structure with relatively little number of additional parts when a sensor for detecting the speed of the front wheels is installed on a reach type load handling vehicle.
SOLUTION: An axle 31 is fixed to the outer wall of a reach rail 21 extending forward from the body of a reach type forklift, and front wheels (driven wheels) 11 are rotatably supported on the axle 31. Projections 34a as detected parts are formed on the inner surface of the wheel 34 of the front wheel 11 at a constant pitch in circumferential direction. A speed sensor 30 for detecting the speed of the front wheel 11 is supported in the state of being guarded against projections on a road surface when a vehicle is running by a guard 40 installed on the lower surface of the reach rail 21 and in the state of being disposed generally in the range of the width of the reach rail 21.
