Title:
FRONT WHEEL SUSPENSION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5594807
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To suppress wind-up by installing an arm, which is provided between a car body and an axle housing, parallel to a drag link of a steering gear related to a front wheel suspension system that contains leaf springs.

CONSTITUTION: A front wheel suspension system 10 contains a pair of leaf springs 16 that elastically supports an axle housing 14 which is placed in the lateral direction of a car body 12. The front and rear ends of the spring 16 are held by a frame 20 through a bracket 18 and a shackle 22 respectively. An arm 64 is installed between the housing 14 and the frame 20 so that it is located at the same height as a drag link 52 and is parallel to the link 52. The arm 64 receives a wind-up torque, which acts on the housing 14 when starting or braking the car, as a tension or compressive force and reduces the said torque that acts on the spring 16.
