The fryer comprises a longitudinal square tube shaped housing 1, a storage vat 2, which stores cooking oil and is made from a planar flange 2b corresponding to the upper circumferential edge of the housing 1 and a reservoir 2a that is formed continuing downward from this flange 2b and is accommodated in the housing 1, and a heater 4, which is disposed inside the oil, wherein a second protruding member 7, which is disposed protruding outward from the outer sidewall surface at a position lower than the heater 4 in the storage vat 2, is supported on and fastened to a first protruding member 6, which is disposed on the housing 1 protruding inward, and a 1 mm or greater gap is disposed between the upper circumferential edge of the housing 1 and the flange 2b of the opposite storage vat 2.
